future is?

Then I immediately learned some carpentry skills to create the outline wood frame. This step requires a lot of patience and calculation, but when it is finally done, the results are great and very cheap cost. But I suddenly realized a very important problem, the size of the wooden frame is too small to withstand the rotating motor, so I had to discard the idea of automatic rotation and switch to manual rotation. Next time, I will measure more and calculate the correct dimensions, and I will also try more to assemble the mechanical installation art.
I wanted to use a composition that could represent the concept of “balance." Thus, I need a very symmetrical pattern, and one of the best features of digital painting compared with hand painting is a variety of auxiliary tools, such as symmetrical auxiliary drawing. This means that I only have to draw half of it, and the other half is automatically completed based on that half of the data. Finally, my image is finished.

I placed the stainless steel plate inside the laser cutter, scanned it, and after 2 hours, I got the result. The result of this experiment, which was actually surprising. I did not expect that this pattern could be carved in such detail and with such rich layers.

In addition to installation art, I also made and experimented with various other mediums with these patterns, such as silk scarves.

This installation intends to present the link between "present" and "future". The whole installation has two sides. The mirror side represents the present because the audience can directly see themselves through the mirror, and the pattern in the mirror symbolizes the imagination of the future. The other patterned side represents the harmonious and balanced future that people can achieve. When the audience rotates a square, this interaction can be explained as: people can look at themselves and decide to make changes for their good future, so that the superposition of changes can reach the desired future.
